Traditional and cultural practices

Hawaii's Penal Code expressly says that preparing, burying, or cremating a corpse in a manner consistent with traditional Hawaiian cultural customs and practices is not, by itself, a violation of the state's corpse-abuse law. That provision recognizes a specific place for traditional cultural practices within the state's death-care framework.
