Traditional funeral and burial in Erie

Among 3 funeral homes serving Erie with a checked price list, a traditional funeral and burial is $5,595 at every one of them. Each figure comes from that funeral home's own General Price List, and we checked it against that list on Oct 12, 2026. We list 34 funeral homes serving Erie, and 3 of them have a price list we've checked so far.

The total adds these items from each funeral home's price list: basic services of funeral director and staff; transfer of remains to funeral home; embalming; other preparation of the body; facilities and staff for viewing; facilities and staff for funeral ceremony; hearse. Cemetery or crematory fees charged by third parties, death certificates, and merchandise such as an urn or casket are extra unless a funeral home lists them.

No. Under the federal Funeral Rule (16 CFR Part 453) you have the right to choose only the goods and services you want, and every funeral home must give you an itemized General Price List. The packages here are a comparison aid built from those itemized prices, not something the funeral home sells as a bundle.

The biggest differences are the non-declinable basic services fee, whether the funeral home has its own crematory or uses a third party, and how far it will travel to collect the deceased before a mileage charge applies. Each funeral home's page shows all of these.
